Scientific Scope of the Virtual Conference

The First Russian-German Virtual Conference on Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences invites in an interactive online event under the umbrella of the German-Russian Interdisciplinary Science Center (G-RISC) researchers from Russia and Germany to push scientific exchange at times when traveling and meeting in person is difficult.

Invited to participate are primarily researchers from Russia and Germany who are interested in interdisciplinary research in the field of natural sciences covering major fields funded by G-RISC:

  • Fundamental Research
  • Applied Research
  • Life Sciences
  • Materials Research

Target groups are primarily young and experienced researchers from both countries presenting preferentially their recent results obtained from joint Russian-German projects or research that is of perspective importance for future collaborations between Russian and German research teams. Invited talks, progress reports, contributed talks, as well as posters can be presented. Additional time slots are allocated for covering social and communicative aspects by meeting other researchers in virtual coffee and lunch breaks.

Program Scheme of the Conference

The duration of the presentations is: invited talks (25 + 5 min), progress reports (20 + 5 min), contributed talks (12 + 3 min), posters (2 h). If the available slots for contributed talks are oversubscribed, the oral presentations are selected by the Program Committee and eventually moved to the poster session. In addition, there are coffee breaks and one lunch break per day (1 h) for facilitating communication between the participants. Invited speakers and speakers of progress reports are requested to indicate upon registration, when they are available to speak to other participants during these breaks.

Technical Realization of the Conference

All registered participants will receive at a later time suitable weblinks ahead of the conference using Webex. Presenters need at least a suitable computer equipped with a microphone, a video camera, and their running presentation that is shared with the audience.
